Why is my Fulltone Wah pedal making a loud buzzing sound?
I just got home after I bought a new wah pedal and when I plug it in and turn it on it makes a really loud humming sound (so loud I can't hear the effect)! Does it need to be replaced?

Need to know a bit more info first. Can you list what other effects you are using & in what order. How you are powering them?

I'll assume you didn't notice this in the store? If you played thru a modeling amp it may have had a gate enabled. If not try this.
1. Try using different cables if you have any spares. 2. Try a different guitar. 3. If it's still humming send it back. |

I use the Fulltone Clyde and have had a few issues with it myself, but have fixed all of them. New batteries might help, I find most wah pedals, and for some reason Fulltone in particular, rinse normal batteries, it's best to get long life/lithium ones. Also they really hate high gain effects such as Fuzz without a noise gate. If you whack some new batteries in it and use it clean/mid-gain and it still doesn't work, then take it back, most likely the circuitry's screwed.

if you're using a pedal board you don't want to mount the power supply, it should be as far from it as you can get it. I tried putting a morley bad horsie 2 over a power lab 2 and it hummed horribly. Just moving it fixed it.
