Best Rock/Metal-guitar for under 2K?

Hi my fellow metalheads!
Im looking for a new axe at a price-range under 2000$.
I play almost everything between Rock N' Roll alá Led Zepplin and GN'R to heavier stuff like Slayer/A7X/Slipknot. I also play a bit of jazz and classical but I think most guitar at 2K will do that pretty descent as well
I'm primarly solo/lead guitarist.
Anyways, i've been checking out the Ibanez S5470's and the ESP Horizons(primarly the FR-II) and thought that both of them seems like pretty good guitars but for some reason Im not really in to the Horizon, maybe you guys will change my mind :P
The Ibanez however looks amazing and would be a insta buy if it wasn't for
A) Here in Sweden, the disired colour for me which is Blue isn't available at all.
B) Some people talks about sustain-problems with the guitar.

So if you guys could give me other tips or if you've played the axes above I would very much like it if you could talk me into one of them more

Edit: I forgot a few things, the guitar have to have some kind of Floyd-Rose or variaty to that and also it's OK if it's 7-string, I don't really care.

Thanks//
Alex

I'm a big fan of the ESP, particularly the eclipse. They're beautifully made, play better than most guitars and have classic good looks with a modern edge. The new LTD elite models have either passive duncans or the new EMGs. Both handle high gain well and can do pretty much anything else as well.

Love the Esps or ltds. The Eclipse line is fantastic. Classic les paul style but with modern specs and awesome finishes.

Even the cheaper LTD's are great

ESPs & LTDs would seem to fit the bill.

For that price, you might be able to go custom with one of the European brands, like Mayones.

I don't know if US Masters ships to Europe, but they have plenty of options that you'd probably like.

EBMM JP model maybe? Or Luke, depending on which you'd like best.

Take your pick. I'm thoroughly convinced that Carvins are by far the most economical high-end guitars out there. Not quite Suhrs or anything but definitely on the level of most other brands' best offerings and at much better prices.

Carvins are awesome and give great value for money, but he's in Sweden. I have been chided more than once that Carvins are not as price-friendly outside of North America.

One of the reasons I suggested US Masters is they are of similar quality and I know they do ship outside North America. However, to find out how much shipping costs, you need to contact them with your address...

Well...I'll throw out my buddy, Chicago area luthier Jon Kammerer. I met him at the Dallas Guitar show maybe...8-10 years ago? Over that time, I've bought 5 of his guitars. (Stock only, so far, no customs.)

His stock guitars currently start at $1500. For that, you get a choice of:

Satin or Gloss finish (he may or may not still do some of his special finishes at this price)
24 fret fret board (as I recall, 25.5" scale)
Blind Fret Slots
Multiple pickup configurations with single coils, HBs, or P-90's (he typically uses SDs, Golden Age and DiMarzios.)
Case included (usually Gators)
Body woods like Hard Maple, Soft Flame maple, Walnut, or Cherry
Gold, Chrome, or Black Hardware
Limited lifetime warranty
Hardtails or tremolo

His full custom guitars start at $2000. He does do work for international customers.

On the non-custom front, I'd suggest a Fernandes- maybe the Revolver Elite JP? Or a Ravelle?

DBZ offers the Halcion.

Reverend has a few models you might like- the Reeves Gabrels sig, the Bayonet W, the Kingbolt RA FM.

Godin has some models you might enjoy, but aesthetically, they tend towards natural wood traditional reds, black, and tobacco burst type finishes. Good guitars, though.

ESP Horizon, but I'm sure there are other guitars from other brands that are similar in specs and price, just try them out if you can to see which one fits you best.

Reasons to get the Horizon:
-Sexy finishes
-If you get the one with the passive seymour duncans you get great versatility especially with the coil tapping to get a bright single coil tone, if you ever decide to try playing something besides metal/rock.
-Locking tuners (probably plenty of other guitars at this price with them though)
-neck-thru body so you get great sustain.

I've been looking at the blue S5470 as well and it really sucks that it's not available here in Sweden. But the best looking S5470 is a limited edition model in Germany. A bit more expensive but the koa top makes it worth it.

The new Devil's Shadow isn't bad.

I would choose Ibanez over ESP but it's alla preference so what is good for one might be bad for another.

I didn't like the UAC in Tom 2.0, I thought it was far too invasive.
