what amp do you reccomend

honestly ive been playing for about 12 years and gig often so im no noob but until recently i had a had an old peavy amp that served me really well(it was stolen)

i dont have any idea where to start, i play mostly stuff like clapton, arctic monkeys, and nirvana.

i would prefer to get something by fender if they have something i like but if they dont then im fine venturing out.

another thing. what would be a good option to replace this mixer as it was stolen as well

Fender HRD
Fender Supersonic

you will probably want a Boss DS-1 or a DOD Grunge pedal for the Nirvana stuff

Yamaha and mackie make some diecent powered mixers. Go used if you are on a tight budget

Hey Randy,

I literally just responded in your pick-up thread in Electric Guitar that you need a new amp

I'm sure that was purely coincidental.

You covered most of it already but I'll link it anyway:

I support the SuperSonic 60 idea

Yeah I fought it until I tried using my fire 15 at a gig Last night it was miced up but it still didn't offer enough sound, it's great for at home but I couldn't get over the drummer enough to hear myself

My budget is about 800 on the top end.
But I need the mixer as well

Also note: if I ever catch the son of a bitch that stole my gear I'm gonna slit his throat

Edit : closest city
Nashville

Current gear mim strats, and boss me 70

There are quite a few amps on your craigslist that I would consider - but you could easily grab one of the HRDs on there and have money left over for a mixer.

Sorry to hear about your gear.

There was a big thread on here last week about stolen gear that had a lot of good advice in it if you didn't see it.

May have had it right the first time. I picked up a used Peavy Delta Blues a few years ago and really like this amp. Takes all my pedals well and the 15 inch speaker really puts out some noise. Voiced pretty well for what your talking about.

Thank you brother I appreciate that. I really loved that mixer of all the things that were stolen that is what I miss the most because it hasn't been as easy to find a replacement.

2 mim strats : another mim strat
Digitech rp1000 : boss me 70
Amp : I'm working on that right now
Mixer : ????????

Like I said if I ever find out who did it I'm gonna beat the hell out of him

thanks for the responses everyone im gonna check out the peavey delta blues, the supersonic (though i doubt i can afford one)

and someone i know suggested the super champ x2 head and enclosure, he said it puts out quite a bit more than you would expect from a 15 watt, as well as the front man 212

edit: and im also gonna check out the Peavey PV 5300 5-Channel Powered Mixer

hey thanks for the help especially with the mixer man, i had no clue what they were called

edit: may be a stupid question but i dont want to try it and findout it doesnt work. is it possible to use the powered mixer as a head?

like if i buy a speaker enclosure and the mixer will it work the same as a speaker enclosure and a head? or will it sound messed up/ not work at all?

Yeah no problem.

That site has some really good deals on Fenders. There is 1 2x12 Fender HR deville for $399 that would be great for what you want

It will work, but sound like crap unless you have a MFX pedal that has amp/cab sims on it

i still have not found a way to like them cleans are some of the better in that price bracket, but the OD is terrible, and i also haven't had a ton of success with OD's over the clean via pedals.

i also have to +1 to 311's idea of the supersonic 60. fantastic tones come out of those. highly underrated IMO.

I haven't heard the Supersonic so yeah, it might be perfect for him.

The HRD clean channel is STELLAR at taking pedals though. Most ODs/Distortions I've tried (screamers, OCD, Fulldrive, Riot, blues breaker clone, Line 6 distortions/ods, quite a few others) have sounded really good.

Of course it's totally subjective so I might've been there thinking they were awesome and you might've thought they sounded like ass.
