Thank you captain obvious.

MrFibble was saying there's no justification for having a 4x12 in your house. Well, if I prefer the tone I can get with a 4x12 over a 1x12 or 2x12, then its all the justification I or anyone else needs. We're on a music forum talking about tone. I don't need to clarify that I'm speaking about my opinion, it's pretty much a given.

You flat out said.

"better tone", no matter how you EVER want to describe it, is always subjective. Again, thanks captain obvious for stating the obvious.

This pissing contest over cabs is ridiculous. So many variables impact tone...however, in my personal experience my 412 provides a much more fulfilling experience than a 112. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And opinions, including mine, are like assholes, everybody has one.

ah there was someone on here that had one. I can't remember who.
the user ikey_ is really into them. maybe ask him?
They look sick on paper.

all y'all should stop with the cab bitching.
do it in another thread or on your own time. this guy has a legit question.

I don't often suggest it, but you may score a used Mini Rectifier for around $700 if you're patient.

I answered TS's question. I was also responding to the misinformation being spread.

lol tis true. and i should have worded my OP better This truly is a hunt for a lunchbox amp.
the statement about the 5153 was just justification to look for one.... the woman hates when i spend random cash on guitar gear... my amps combined are worth more than her car and she hates it hahaha

Could you sell the 5153 and buy the 5153 mini?

It's the same wattage but smaller. But she doesn't have to know that.

lmao this actually crossed my mind a few times. as well as the mini rec. (witch is sayin something cuz im anti mesa rec)

but i cant justify to myself spending a Grand on half of a head hahaha.

im fighting with myself on pulling the trigger on the 700 bone snott watt for the same reason :/.. i could buy a high end ltd or a damn decent used prestige for that kinda cash

The issue is that the fiance is not understanding that large wattage amps can still be used at quite volumes and what I'm guessing is her unwillingness to understand that. It was a suggestion that he could still get the same or similar tones from a seemingly smaller amp that his fiance would approve of.

To be honest I don't even know why it should be an issue if it's being soundproofed.

Because I've learned the fantastic advantage to not arguing with womens scewed logic.. In return the bedroom yields much more fun.

it also has to do with having a nice toy for home that I dont need to lug up and down the stairs all the friggin time. all my heads get gigged at least oncer per a month. same with the cab

Yeah, those 5153 heads are ungodly huge.

All the good stuff has been mentioned. Out of everything, the Mini Rec and Snott Watt are probably what you're after.
