Current Bass\es: Sandberg Ken Taylor, Fender MIJ Mustang, Westone Thunder 1A, Squire SS Jag (being converted to a piccolo)
Favourite Bass you own: The Sandberg
Favourite Bass you've played: I've played a custom 'berg owned by one of the guys from PMT in brum, Cocobolo body and a glock pre-amp, the greatest mids I've ever heard on a bass, literally like being punched in the gut to the point of orgasm, and a neck like butter
Dream Bass: Atm, I'm lusting after a Fender VI because of my current musical direction, but deep down, it'd be a Carl Thompson, 32inch scale, with a Kahler trem

Favourite amp you've played on: Ampeg SVT with an 8x10

Genres
Genres you play: Rock an its various spin off's, Funk, blues etc

Which aspect of Basses you have the most proficieny in, (Playing and Technique\Building and maintaining\Composing and theory\ Gear: Playing and Gear
Favourite famous bass player: Les Claypool, meeting him was a massive dream come true
Famous bass player you think you most resemble in style or personality: I've been told I play like Colin Greenwood, and also Juan Alderete from TMV when he's got his mellow groove on, which I took as a massive compliment. These days I'm deffo a less is more kind of guy in terms of bassline, I tend to stick to grooves and drony hypnotic style lines.

Favourite amp you've played on: I don't actually know, haven't played through many tbh
Dream amp: TC Electronics RH750 + 2 RS410 cabs

Effects
Do you use effects?, if so, which?: Wah, Compression, Fuzz, Distortion, Bass Synth, delay
Which effects do you own: Dunlop 105Q, EHX Multicomp, EHX Big Muff Pi, ZVEX Mastotron, Sansamp BDDI, Markbass Bass Synth, EHX Bass Micro Synth (which I dislike and barely use), Boss DD-3, and also a Digitech Whammy (I've lent this to one of my guitarists cause it's much more applicable to his playing than mine, they sure are fun though)
Favourite effect: Markbass Bass Synth. It can make some seriously cool/funky/tripped out synth noises, has 9 programmable presets plus 3 additional presets for a bass octaver function (you can connect it to your computer via USB and realllly mess around with the synth parameters). It's sounds are versatile and easy to use in a band setting, plus the presets make it very practical. I got it as a replacement for the EHX Micro Synth, which can make some real nice noises in it's own right, but it takes a while to dial in the perfect settings with the sliders and in a live setting changing the synth tone on the fly isn't really feasible. The Markbass is a better sounding pedal that resolves all the shortcomings of the EHX one. It's a little pricier, but neither of them are exactly cheap pedals and the extra cash is well worth it. Highly recommended pedal.

Genres
Genres you play: Jam, Livetronica, Funk, Rock, Post-Rock
Genres you enjoy playing: The above, plus indie and metal. Love me some breakdowns lol.
Favourite genre to play: Livetronica. The possibilities are endlessssssss
Bands you are in: Glass Satellite (googling it will lead you no where, but it's kind of progressive jammy rock-influenced livetronica)

Knowledge etc
Which aspect of Basses you have the most proficieny in, (Playing and Technique\Building and maintaining\Composing and theory\ Gear: Playing or gear. Don't really know diddly about theory unfortunately, I used to but have forgotten most and all that I knew was for the cello and I never bothered transferring that knowledge over to bass (stupidly). It doesn't impact my ability to compose at all, but it's something that's been nagging me for a while and something I'm gonna do something about.
Favourite famous bass player: Justin Chancellor and Jean Baudin
Famous bass player you think you most resemble in style or personality: I'm really quite influenced by Justin Chancellor, and always take pride when people tell me a bass line I came up with sounds like something of his. I love his musical approach and the techniques he uses to create a very full and atmospheric bass presence. I like to think I'm kind of like a medley between JC and Dan Kurtz (of the wonderful, and now defunct, The New Deal and who is now playing in Dragonette). The music me and my band tries to make is essentially atmospheric and trippy rock/dance music, and this cross works out quite well I think. I listed Jean Baudin above, and I try to mimic some of the sonic textures he creates what with the open strings ringing and chords and what not, but most of my playing is nothing like his lol
