(hard)resetting your sleeping cycle?

I've read it somewhere, hard resetting.

how it works is don't sleep for one night, then on the next night, sleep at whatever time you want your sleeping cycle to be.

has anyone tried this?

lately I sleep at 6AM and wake up at 2PM. I have some trouble trying to sleep idk why, and I'd happily do this if it helps.

Why not take numerous power naps rather than one long sleep?

It's been tried, it has long-term consequences for your body.

Why is it that these kinds of threads pop up at least once every month?

I've heard another theory that is supposed to reset your metabolic clock.

Fast for at least 12 hours before breakfast time in the destination country. Apparently it helps with jetlag.

There was this guy in the Pit who tried it a few weeks back. He gave up after a while.

TL;DR: polyphasic sleep isn't complete bullshit, but it's got an inordinately small level of actual usefulness.

Well I have this coming week off. Perhaps I shall disprove the Pit's scientists and change my sleep cycle...

Nah screw that I'm tired.

This whole week my body clock has been completely off, today i'm trying (again) to reset my body clock, I didn't go to sleep last night cause I couldn't sleep, so the hard part is staying up all day today.

Get off your ass and start moving around. That should fix your problem of falling asleep.

But God doe

OT: It's not ALWAYS going to work, but it can work. I've done it. The key is to set an alarm for when you want to wake up so you don't oversleep and **** it up. As long as you get a reasonable amount of sleep (6-8 hours of good sleep), it'll work.

Does that actually work?

Also, odd coincidence that this thread is here today. I woke up at 2:30 this morning from a 3-4 hour nap and have to wake up at 7am tomorrow. Trying to stay up all day. Gonna be rough.

Best way is to fast. Don't eat anything for at least 12 hours, then have breakfast and go about your day. Your metabolism clock can override your sleep clock. Otherwise you'll just feel like shit and probably will anyway.

Because if TS is anything like me, it probably takes him 2-3+ hours to actually get to sleep.
