Peavey 6505 LED modification with a twist!

Hey guys i'm new to UG and I came here in the hopes that someone could help me sort out a way to do an LED modification for my 6505. I want to have blue LEDs, but I also want them to pulsate when I palm mute kinda like get brighter when I chug and more dim when i'm doing some chord action. Think of the DAR Future Breed Machine video by Fearedse where he captures the lights getting brighter every time he mutes. How can I do this?

Welcome to UG.

You're probably best off posting here -> http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/foru...isplay.php?f=53

However I can say if you're not too sure how to modify amps, I wouldn't do it. You're dealing with very high and lethal voltages and if you muck it up, it could mean bad news for the amp. Also you will more than likely void any kind of warranty.

Also I think the flickering of the lights in the videos is from the camera, not the lights actually flickering IIRC.

Well if you're okay with electronics, then go for it. It's quite a common mod so it shouldn't be too hard to find some info on it.

It is? I've never seen an amp light up based on attack.

I meant for the LEDs only. I might be wrong on the flickering LED part, but I couldn't imagine it being simple to pull off.

What about a lowpass filter? I understand that many people make lowpass filters and use them for music and have LEDs respond to the lower frequencies.

Probably.

You'd have to ask someone a little more knowledgeable about electronics than me.
