Nuno Bettencourt Flanger/Phaser

I was just wondering if anyone knew if it was a flanger or phaser Nuno uses, what pedal it is or how to replacate the sound

more specifically at the start of this video (sounds incredible)

thanks in advance

Sounds like a Flanger to me. Phaser would have a more Wah-ish feel to it.

i'm reliably terrible at telling effects from soundclips, but that sounds like a flanger to me, too. that really obvious swoosh/stepping/jet noise type of thing is normally flanging.

extreme and nuno for teh win

It is either an Ibanez Paul Gilbert Airplane flanger or an ADA vintage or vintage reissue flanger.
