The Peavey 6505+ 112 combo has a separate compartment each for the speaker and amp components (tubes). Since the tubes are not in the speaker blast zone, therefore my amp shouldn't be susceptible to microphonic tubes, no?

No. That's how every combo works. There's still no real decoupling between the chassis and the speaker like you get with a head and cab.

Speaker make cab shake.
In combo, cab is also amp
Shaky amp make tube sing when not supposed.

And this is why I think high gain combos suck. They are ok if it's all you can afford I suppose but it's just a bad format for that type of amp.
