No, it's a thing. I used to be buddies with a guitar store owner (old school kind of guy), he mentioned the pool route thing and wasn't a fan. Also wasn't a fan of all the brass that was going on in the 80s.






Anywho, looking sweet greg. You should convince him to go P-rail, single, P-rail.

Pool routes just make sense. It's like the Bolt on necks. Just makes it easier.

after sanding the grain filler back i went to 600 grit before shooting the first of the clear coats.

me too. it's only orange in direct sunlight.

otherwise it's brown/golden looking, which is what doug was hoping for.

Looks great. Love the natural look. I was thinking of doing an ebony stain to highlight the grain then sand back and use a blue stain for the finish for the tele. Right now it's merely a matter of finishing motivation and time.

It looks good,
But honestly man. That is WAY too soon to buff a finish and assemble. That finish is still goign to be drying and its going to shrink back a ton. Finishes need to sit at least 2 weeks... lacquer even around a month.
