Beat Music/Nerve/Jojo Mayer bass stuff

So my buddy's trying to start up a dance band and I've been listening to a lot of Nerve, Jojo Mayer, and Mark Guiliana stuff and racking my brain as to how to get the bass sound they get.

Check out the album Beat Music or The Distance Between Zero And One for what I'm talking about.

I'm thinking I'm going to have to get a nice Octave pedal, turn the sub all the way up and run some nasty bass heavy EQ through it and mess with my MF-101 lowpass filter settings.... But damn. The subs. I may have to buy another 15" cab for this. =/

Also anyone know any other albums/artists along these lines?

There is lot of good electronic jam bands that have quite similar tendencies to that kind of music. Check out sound tribe sector 9, pnuma trio, lotus and the disco biscuits.
