Pre lawsuit Ibanez guitars

As some of you have seen I am looking for a new guitar. Once upon a time I had a 1976 Ibanez Destroyer which I loved. I have always liked Ibanez guitars. Possibly due to the fact that they are not "real" Les Pauls when you can find the pre lawsuit copies they seem to be a pretty good bargain. Anyone have experience with them?

I've never played one but I've heard good things, Paul Gilbert owns a couple I believe.

I think the main thing is just when you're buying a guitar that can be 40+ years old so much comes down to how well it's been maintained.

1976 LP would be the year of transition from Lawsuit to post lawsuit and not a pre-lawsuit model. Yes the lawsuit was initiated in 77 but was based on previous years models.
While some copies were better the lower end ones were nothing special at all! Plywood bodies, hollow carved tops made from pressed wood of some type, crappy electronics and bolt on necks.
Moving on.....
