Not like Oasis was actually a pop band... Beatles is a pop band that gets labeled as a rock band even though most of their music BY FAR is pop.. Bruce Springsteen isn't a pop musician because he has made a couple of pop-ish singles? And don't say shit there. No way in hell he can be classified as a pop musician.

And why would you ever call Oasis a pop band? Just listen to Supersonic.. Cigarettes and Alcohol... Jesus, listen to their concerts on youtube on something. They are a rockband.. Every rockband (not talking about heavy rock or anything crazier than that) has made a couple of pop-ish songs. Aerosmith has done that too?

And I don' see you guys having 7 albums out there, all multiplatinum, one with 14x platinum... I don't see any of you selling more than 50 million albums...

So don't bitch and whine about creativity when you can't even do it better yourself. Or maybe you can, and people just don't care.

Because they're a pop band. They just happened to base their pop music on the rock genre.

The "do it better yourself" is a terrible argument when someone's critizicing anyone else who got it for a job.

Can I apply the same stupid argmument whenever someone bitches about politicians, football players or anything else? It more or less renders the possibility to critizise someone else/dislike someone's work input impossible because I am obviously not doing it myself and I'm most likely just jealous of all the millions of albums they have sold despite them not even writing music I'd like to write.

They are a brit-pop band with electric guitars and some distortion. I assume you're one of those who look down upon pop and therefore deny the fact that Oasis can be seen as a pop band...

And I'm sorry, I'll come back to you when I've recorded my first album. It's in the process but it's in swedish so you won't understand the lyrics about sex and cigarettes and alcohol and stuff that I am writing.

Actually, rock music is popular music... Rock music is a kind of popular music. So yes, they have made VERY popular music Which of course means that Metallica is also a pop band, along with Black Sabbath, Nirvana, and Justin Bieber. Just so that we are clear...

I think i should stop posting here now

Take care

i don't think the popular music is the definition of pop music around here and I think you know that.

the structurues, behaviour and pretty much everything in Oasis music is through and through pop-music

Im from Denmark, so yes, i will understand whatever you are writing in swedish. Im TOTALLY looking forward to hearing it. And i DO think you can use that argument? Whenever criticizing someone, maybe sit back for a moment and just think: "Could i ever do a better job myself". Often, you can't. I don't bitch about musicians i don't like, saying they are bad, cause i know that couldn't do what they are doing. I don't whine over footballers playing bad cause i suck at football. I dont talk shit about leaders of countries and other politicians cause i don't think its easy to run things.

I think its very valid..

Så jeg forstår godt hvad du skriver, om det så er cigaretter, alcohol sex, eller hvad du nu ellers kan finde på.

Fint, ge mig din adress/mail eller något så kan jag maila/skicka dig min skiva när den är klar kompis.

Basically you can't have an opinion on anything being bad ever with that view on stuff except what you do. What's the deal with that?

Not everyone specialises in everything nor is compentent in the whole spectra but for the average guy to stop coming with critique of someone getting paid millions for doing a sub-par/mediocre job at a specific post isn't really a development of society that's good.

Wouldn't that kind of make it hard when voting for politicians etc, how can you vote away someone you dislike/don't want? Why don't you do it yourself instead?

There's a difference between coming with critique like "he blatantly sucks, is incompetent yada yada" and actually finding a band, sportsman, politician or whatever to do stuff he shouldn't do. I find Oasis to write rather boring songs and as far as I know and care my own stuff I have written is better and I like it more. I'm quite certain I'll never sell more albums than them but I still take my freedom to find them lacking in creativity and anything special.

Never listened to a song of theirs until now. They don't sound terrible but just sounds like boring cliche indie-rock to me. Not my cup of tea.

This is always such a dumb argument..

You don't have to be able to do something yourself to know whether someone else is good or bad at it.

I find them boring, but one or two of their songs are decent. Also, Liam Gallaggheoarhoa is a knob.

Because nobody takes the time to really listen to them and think they only did Wonderwall and Don't Look Back In Anger. And Liam is a knob, but Noel is just a bit miserable, something people get wrong a lot. If you look at Noel play Wonderwall live (the way it was meant to be played) then you'll see a whole other side to Oasis.

They are one of my favourite bands.

Exactly mate.. :-)

And all im saying is... Don't say someone is shit? Thats just your opinion. someone else might like it.. I don't run around saying Oasis is ****ing amazing, ill say that I THINK oasis is ****ing amazing.. There is a big difference? I dont believe that the whole world has to agree with me, like some of you do.. It's just your opinion, and hey, its as valid is mine.

And well spoken Hakoon

I like oasis. fine if you dont.. But don't tell me they are shit when you couldn't fill the boots yourself. What i mean by saying that you can't just trash people when you can't do what they do, i mean that sure, you can voice your opinion, saying that you think they are shit. Thats just your opinion and thats fine. Free speech and all that. But the moment you start talking about it like it is fact, thats when you need something to back it up. I don't run around saying drummers are shit, cause i can't drum, but if i was in a damn good band, and i was one of the worlds best drummers, then i'd have the right to talk about other drummers' abilities... Thats what i mean.

So wait, you can't criticise something unless you are better, or can do it better yourself?
