Thoughts On "The Wonder Years"

Since the beginning of this year, I've been getting into a band called "The Wonder Years". Next month I am finally getting a chance to see them live. I like my fair share of pop punk, but I mostly listen to metal, and for some reason, these guys really clicked with me. I've tabbed out a few of there songs for Guitar Pro on here (my "The Devil In My Bloodstream" tab has still not been accepted ) Currently they have shot to one of the top bands I listen to on a regular basis.

So, what are your thoughts on them?

i saw them once open for streetlight manifesto once without knowing who they were. they slayed. I thought 'the upsides' was a great album, but for the most part it's part of this really whiny brand of new pop-punk that I am not a fan of. its very NFG and the lyrics are way too self-pittying for me to tolerate.

EDIT: this definitely belongs in the 'pop-punk' board.

Uh, The Wonder Years aren't whiny pop-punk but self-pittying, they are. NFG is whiny pop-punk. Pre-Folie a Deux Fall Out Boy is whiny pop-punk. The Wonder Years, if anything, are melodic pop-punk, which is a far cry from NFG, who are straight forward pop-punk. But they are a really good band. Their new album The Greatest Generation is fantastic, in my opinion.

I saw them open for New Found Glory a couple of years ago, they weren't half bad considering that I had never heard their music before. As much as I tried, I could really only get into one track of theirs. Not saying they suck, but I just feel like they weren't meant for audiences like myself.

i had never heard them before, then one day in hot topic i heard a song of theirs, thought it was okay, then at warped i showed up super early to watch sleeping with sirens, and the wonder years came on, and they absolutely kicked ass. they blew my mind and ever since i was hooked. i think if they keep up what they're doing they can be HUGE in the pop punk genre, if they aren't already.
anyways i love them, put on an incredible show

They're cool (though a lot of their fans annoy me). They belong in the Pop Punk forum though.

Just saw them earlier this month, Danny's an awesome guy, if you want to find out more about them or him, Alternative Press just put up a really cool interview video with him and Evan Weiss from Into It. Over It. about a week or two ago.

The older and much less popular band called the Wonder Years is pretty cool.
