Guitar / Riffs/Songs to play...

Hello everyone!

This is my first post, I was interested in what you guys had to say about this...

Im looking for songs to learn with groovy/sweet/fun-to play riffs....

Im not that much into soloing like Petrucci(not that it's not awesome or anything) but Im more of a funk, rock type player.

Im looking for riffs with the fun playing of P.Gilberts Bliss(or anything PG really..), the groove of Jamiroquai, the power of megadeth and the crazyness of Mars Volta...(Im not into music with vocals you can't even tell what they're saying(screamings n stuff)....)

Do any of you guys have any recommendations?

Thanks for your time!

Plus let me know what you think of my first song, you can look it up on youtube its called "Monotonous Sounds of a Stupid Co-Worker" hahaha

Well if you're into fun playing, groove and power there are a few rock bands i can recommend.

I think you would dig stuff like early Mr. Big, Extreme, The Answer, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Airbourne and Maragold. Those were just the bands that came to mind from your description.

Give these tunes a listen:
Merciless (Mr. Big)
Politicalamity (Extreme)
Evergreen is golder (Maragold)
Trouble (The Answer)
No One Fits Me (Airbourne)
Stone Cold Bush (Red Hot Chili Peppers)

I hope you dig something by any of them, that was all i had to offer from your description. Cheers mate.

Mr.Big ,Extreme and RHCP are classics for guitar players.

I've heard airbourne, Im not that big of a fan just because they "continued" to do what ACDC did...and Heard nothing different. Its acdc with different guys and not even with the same punch.

I'll give Maragold and The Answer a listen and let you know

Yeah, i am not that active in the rock scene so my suggestions are abit limited, more of a jazz guy. I mean you can always check out classic rock bands, they often had groovy but still punchy stuff.

Hope you find what you are looking for.
