new valves/tubes for jcm 800

my jcm 800 2204 is going to the tech to get the volume pot fixed and I thought id get new valves all round at the same time. so if money was no object what power and preamp valves would you install?

NOS Mullard ecc83 in V1/V2, NOS JAN Phillips 5751 PI and NOS Mullard EL34

But in reality: New Mullard 12ax7 V1/V2, NOS JAN Phillips 5751 and SED EL34

Because that is the Phase Inverter and the JAN Pillips 5751 is one of the best tubes for that and it only costs $30ish

NOS Mullard ecc83 will run you $100 each, the Mullard EL34 will run you $170 each

If you aren't going NOS then JJ all the way in the preamp of a Marshall. ECC803 in V1, ECC83S in the other positions.

Power tubes are another story. If you can afford SED =C= then that's what to go for. Otherwise JJ. EL34 for the traditional sound, EL34L if you want a beefier, bigger bottom end.
I have neen running JJ 6CA7's in my JCM900 (same power amp) which give nice breakup if you are cranking it hard. Sorta part way between EL34 and EL34L with a hint of KT66 in its distortion.

Cath you should give one of the new Mullards a try in the preamp, way better than JJ IMO. Well at least in a Marshall. They work really well in V1 of my DSL100
