Permanent electronics for taylor 214

I have a Taylor 214 that I play gigs with. Right now I'm using a dean markley soundhole pickup. It actually sounds pretty great, but sometimes i strum or pick and hit it and it is very frustrating to put in and take out all the time.

I'm thinking about getting permanent electronics installed in my guitar, but I know nothing about it. Whereabouts would this run me in terms of cost? Is this a dangerous procedure? Would tone/playability of my guitar be sacrificed potentially? Is this a job any store could do for me?

I tried gigging with my strat for a bit but a vast majority of my stuff is open chords and i don't think the strat handles that quite like my lovely taylor.
