It's a work of fiction, it's also intended for children. The toys have always been there, as have adverts and all kinds of shit. You ever heard of the Christmas special?

I love Star Wars, have done since I 6 and saw the original trilogy for the first time, I watch all the films every now and then. I recognise though that Lucas intended it for children, not adult men to pick out plot holes and nerd rage who shot first.

Don't be a hipster about Star Wars most of us weren't even born when it came out originally.

The lack of faith in this one is disturbing.

And both sucks, the only difference between Game of Thrones and Walking dead it's that in one you have sex with live people and the other with zombies.

OT: I don't see it too much in my day to day life except when the Star Wars facebook page posts something and all the comments (usually completely unrelated to the post) say things like "star wrs is grestist movies ever luv u from brasil cant wate for 7th episod"

Ahh, makes perfect sense. I should have said a couple fans cause I have met a couple fans who actually told me something rude cause I've never seen it.

Yea, I am really tired of Phil threads.

I know, that's what I mean. They're using any excuse to sell more toys.

Dude. Harry Potter was for kids. Star Wars wasn't. Well, the prequels, maybe.

And thus a new generation of children can grow up with Star Wars. Ah, the inhumanity of it all.

Marketing ruins everything. Spinoffs (and even movies) aside, the Star Wars universe is friggin' awesome and is rivaled by few in terms of scope, setting, and characters.

Hell no.

I don't have much interest in stuff besides the Episodes I through VI, but you can never have enough Star Wars in your life.

The Clone Wars should have either been a movie by itself or some obscure thing you hear legends of but never actually see, like the Time War in Doctor Who. Prequel could have been better executed, RotS tied up too many loose ends (C3PO and R2D2 given to Wedge Antilles right there for one), and AotC could have done without the teen romance. Other than that, no complaints.

George Lucas has always been a uncreative twat. If you read the original script for Star Wars, you will see it was complete and total cheesy rubbish. Some other dude wrote and directed most of it. Lucas knew he was onto a gold mine he could never recreate by himself so he has milked every coin he could since then.

Harry Potter ended up drawing in as many adults to read/watch it as it did kids. So did Star Wars. Not everything has to be dumbed down to the point of teletubbies to be for children.

He either wrote or co wrote all the films and directed 4 of them. He did how ever steal a lot the ideas from westerns and Flash Gordan.

Obviously I've seen all the movies several times, but nobody around me talks about it often, and I haven't watched any of them in a while. So no, I'm not sick of Star Wars.

I'm bored of the films, but KOTOR and Battlefront 2 are awesome games, I will give it that.

We're talking about a science fiction movie based on old adventure serials, not Werner Herzog.

I've only seen one (or part of one) Star Wars movie and it seemed pretty boring to me so I personally don't care about it
