listening now. Btw, I have not yet heard a mix from you I didn't like - I'm quite certain this will be no different. Btw, how do you come across this stuff? Usually most of the obscure heavy metal goes for ridiculous prices these days, and the hm blogs etc are more or less decimated. Either way I'd be interested in following most of these up.

So far up to The Black Riders track. My favourite so far

I know most of these you can find on soulseek or Russia (Metalarea).

Great selection btw! I thoroughly enjoyed it. A really nice mix of classics and unknown demos.

ahh cool! i haven't used SS in a while, it's too temperamental for my taste, - but I may have to revisit.

Great mix! Every song was very solid, and right up my alley as well.

Now that I've heard the whole thing, I'll join the praise chorus. Great mix, man!

The words "deadly" and "NWOBHM" arouse me to no end, especially when combined. I will listen to this later.

Cheers guys! Glad you like it.

Yeah it was either obscure russian download sites or my personal collection gathered from various websites shut down a long time ago.

I really like these lists with all the old heavy metal demos on them. Some great material to be listened to and enjoyed. Solid mix, Heck-o-ween.

Virtue has some of the catchiest melodies in existence, it sucks considering how long they were active for. Would have loved to hear a full length from them. Great track!

Night Vision was ok too. Really short which was cool, but not doing much for me.

The vibrato on that Ritual singer is pretty extreme at points. Kind of neat track. Catchy I guess. It's ok. Not great, but ok.

Genghis Khan was pretty cool too. This is music me and my friends listen to when we're getting smashed, so good on you for bringing this close to home! The outro was furious all over the place.

On Black Riders: I have to say that the intro is hilarious. What an odd thing to include is bombastic synth, and then there's the little break with bom bom bom dunnanana bit with the synth, goodness gracious. Then that synth solo, this is the 80s pop scene in a nutshell fused into heavy metal, there's even a part that could fit into the power rangers theme song. Great track though, Frankenstein was pretty cool.

So far my favourite is still Valhalla's Lightning in the Sky, only to be rivaled by that Dragonslayer track. SAAATAN'S SOLDIERS MARRCHING OUT TO KILL, what a great chorus that is. Welcome to my head, Dragonslayer. You can stay here all day if you'd like.

I want to say you've included Scarab in a previous list perhaps? It sounds like something I would have expected you to include in your 8track mix.

Cheers man! I think I might have them in my first or second Metal Radio, but I haven't heard them in ages until recently. Dragonslayer are killer, really glad I discovered them.

Took me a long time, but I finally got around to listening to this.

Virtue's We Stand To Fight is a God-tier NWOBHM track. Apart from that, my favourites were Dragonslayer, Genghis Khan and Ritual (those leads throughout the track make it for me).

Scarab is always a solid and good listen. I don't know what's up with that Valhalla track. No matter how much I listen to it, I just can't get into it. It sounds unfinished to me.

Night Vision and The Black Riders were the ones I wasn't familiar with beforehand, though I remember having heard something else from the latter. The former had really good riffs and rhythm and the solo section is killer. A bit lacking in the vocal and songwriting department. The Black Riders was interesting, but yeah, like NWOBHM gone AOR. I liked it.

Apologies, as I'd forgotten about this, I've not been online a whole lot since the operation. Going to give it a listen later.
