If you're recording for a full mix, learning to EQ will help you tremendously. Put a high cut on it to filter the fizz out, and a low cut to handle mud.

ok, i will do more research on what that actually means once I start playing around with the EQ. First step, get an acceptable tone, next step, mess with the EQ.
