They can range from $300-$600 for the low end price as for the high end prices from $400-$650.

That one was Ibanez's "meat and potatoes" bass: a great, solid instrument with no frills; a real workhorse. Yours is clearly made before they redesigned the Roadster headstock to look more "Fender-ish." If it is MIJ, you should be able to get about US$450.00 for it; based on the condition in your photos.

Someone somewhere saw it. I relisted while I was waiting on more people and it sold for $1300. Thanks for the help guys even though it wasn't really needed!

Guys...Can you show me a few '79 RS-924s for sale around the U.S. for $450 or so? I'd be curious because these are extremely hard to come by, especially in the condition this was in (very good). Yup it was me that bought it. I fell in love with both the Roadster and the Musician 924's as a broke kid back in '80. All I could do was drool over the print ads and daydream about having one. I am fortunate enough to earn enough money to finally get one, and in great shape - So I bit the bullet and bought it because I didn't want to lose the chance of getting out-bidded by another guy that wanted one of these as much as I always have. I finally picked up a beautiful '81 Musician some time ago but I didn't pay anywhere near $1,300 ...So now I have both and am a happy clown. The seller, by the way, Is a good guy.
