Choice between 3 guitars!

Hey man!

So. I've been on the lookout for a new guitar these days, and I've knocked it down to 3:

Taylor GS Mini - http://www.taylorguitars.com/guitar.../series/gs-mini
Taylor 114CE - http://www.taylorguitars.com/guitars/acoustic/114ce
Cort NDX 50 - http://www.cortguitars.com/uk/product/ndx50

Need some advice here, as I can't try them, only trust online information.

Now. Comparing the Cort to the Taylor, it seems the Cort wins. But that could just be me?

i have 2 GS minis currently. an original spruce top, a mohogany top one and as of 4 minutes ago i am adding the limited edition Holden Village GS mini to my arsenal of guitars that i love to torture eardrums with. the HV mini has an Engelmann top which should put it right between the the other 2 in tone. the HV mini is 50 bucks more than the others but all profits go to a great cause. taylor isnt making a penny on them. you need only call taylor directly and order one. they arent being offered to music stores, only thru the Holden Village website and taylor.
if you go with the HV mini, you can justify it to "the other half" as a charitable donation and be the great guy that you are helping others !!!.. cough cough....
the HV has a lot of different appointments that all of the other GS minis dont have.
i've tried the 114ce and like it for the price. it has taylor's characteristic brightness that if its too bold, you can easily tone down with some PB strings. good projection, nice clarity.
i have no experience with the Cort. just what i read up here.
hope your search goes well,
Steppy

If your going on spec the Cort wins easy. I have an SFX Cort and they are a great guitar. Have you seen the neck joint on that Taylor 114ce, don't that look great lol.

If your only after the name on the head why bother asking, just buy the Taylor.

The new Holden Village GS Mini Special Edition is the first of its line to feature an Engelmann Spruce soundboard. Engelmann is a premium tonewood, and a particularly good fit on a small guitar like this. The first 300 guitars have been sold, and the reviews have been glowing (see the Acoustic Guitar Forum for a very hot thread on this).

This is a truly unique instrument, with the Engelmann Spruce trees for the top salvaged from a mine cleanup in the Cascade mountains of Washington, and back and sides of a stunning fiddleback maple. All of the wood was donated, and Taylor is forwarding all proceeds from the guitar to water remediation projects in Central America:

The guitar is available here:

https://www.taylorguitars.com/taylo...village-gs-mini

Check it out! I do think that it is the best of the line, and comes with a stunning fretboard inlay depicting the mountains above Holden Village...

good for you! i haven't heard any bad things about the minis. i have all 3 and love them. the spruce is very articulate. the mohogany is a lot warmer and mellow. the engelmann splits the 2 but doubles in volume. haven't ever heard such a small guitar belt out so much volume. i actually had to order a second engelmann top mini as "the blonde" has stolen the first one.
umm...uhh...you have taken pics of it and are getting ready to post them right??

I spend a day going to a shop, to try loads of guitars. I did manage to try the Taylor 114CE as well. Close one between the 114CE and the GS Mini. Buuuuut. Since I already have my Ovation, which I am starting to love more and more, and a decent dreadnaught, I thought I might go for something different.
Still waiting for it to arrive, I was playing the demo model at the store, the rest was sold out..
