After a disagreement in OAK on OT Rodger Saffold's physical condition, he is returning to STL to sign a 5-yr contract with the Rams. Wow.

...oh well then

Speaking of kick returners, has Hester signed yet?

isn't he only getting $3m a year?

Sherman and Blount are having a bitchfight on Twitter about who the best corner in the NFL is. And he's talking about Talib, not Revis.

PFF put a stat up yesterday that through the first 8 games Talib gave up 33.3% of passes thrown his way....the last 8? 66.6%!

The best bit about Blount's argument is it reads like it's Revis he's talking about too.

Talib is hardly the best corner in the NFL.

3.5. $3m I'd disagree with, but be okay with. $3.5m is too much for me for what is all but guaranteed to be little more than a deep threat and a return specialist(Even if the Ravens sign an Edelman or Sanders for the slot, they're still drafting a WR in the first three rounds).

Also I'm tempted to make a joke about Blount's last name, but I'm not that immature. Plus weed is still illegal in New England

So I take it an NFL physical is much more intense than the kind I get once a year at the doctors. ...

Edit: So basically a physical is a way to stop buyers remorse. Pretty subjective according to this article http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/...subjective.html

Like, there's no way in hell Peyton Mannings neck passes a real physical.

i didn't know that, though i figured a coach/GM/owner would probably be able to "influence" a physician's choice

It's the time of the contract that worries me though. He'll be 30 in July, so that contract's through 34. A 34-year old speed receiver isn't very useful.

Turns out the last $2m of the deal are incentive-based though, so it's a $12m deal most likely(Jacoby ain't reaching a catch-based incentive. Yards maybe, catches no), so it is actually $3m as Jambi said. Still a bit long, but I'm okay with that now.

A source tells me Seattle free agent CB Brandon Browner is in town for a visit with the @Patriots tomorrow. #fox25

sign him, sign Woodyard...defense is sorted.

yeah, browner would be a good pickup. fairly cheap too, i'd imagine, after a couple lackluster seasons and the suspension drama

I rather have Sherman and his loud mouth over Talib if I have to choose, but Talib is a physical corner too and good in his own right.

Decker to the Jets. Looks like a little over 6 mil for 5 years. I like him though, even if he phantom trips now and then . But he can take his female "football" fans with him for all I care. Sick of seeing them calling him their favoerite receiver because of his E! show with his hot wife.

Run D was good until everyone in the middle died, that could easily be a top tier defense with Browner and Revis patrolling the backfield. Defense may actually be NE's strength this year, especially if Edelman doesn't return.

IIRC, defense WAS their strength for a good portion of the year

It's the Pats time to have fun with Revis & his agent. Wonder where he'll go next year when the Pats refuse to pay his ludicrous demands. He's still the best though but Geno is already 1-0 vs him

Happy with the Decker signing, addresses an urgent need, along with the Giacomini signing even if I know nothing about him (Seahawks fans, report to me here).

Now to pick up a few more pieces, possibly cut Sanchez and then prepare for the draft.
