I was actually expecting Decker to get more money. Hopefully this will drive the price of Edelman down.

It was, before they lost Wilfork, Kelly & Mayo they were giving up 11 points a game. At various points all 11 day 1 starters missed at least half a game minimum too.

Eagles have signed CB Nolan Carroll from Miami and traded for Sproles...not bad at all!

So we got Golden Tate.

The most mixed feelings I've ever felt about a signing. On one hand he does replace Nate Burleson and could probably be better than him if he shows up. On the other hand, he's a massive douchenozzle.

Was never a big fan of Nolan Carroll, not too sad to see him go. He's a good backup but not really starting caliber, way too inconsistent for that. Hopefully he can make some progress with the Eagles, they got him for pretty cheap.

Chris Clemons to the Jags.

This is just getting comical.

Darren Sproles to Philly. Really like that match, he seems perfect for Chip Kelly, and I can't imagine him not thriving as a change-of-pace for Shady.

Edit: And Steve Smith is officially released. Big T, you can keep Edelman; released FAs don't count against compensatory picks, a much older receiver should demand less money, and between whoever the Ravens draft high and Marlon Brown, we don't need long-term contributions out of our FA slot receiver. Smith to Ravens please.

I don't know how to feel about this trade. I love me some Darren Sproles but he's on the other side of 30 and playing in a cold weather city for the first time in his career. Plus on top of that his contract is only for one year so unless Howie signs him up for 2-3 more this was a waste of a draft pick. That's where I'm the most concerned about this trade. I would honestly rather have the draft pick over Sproles.

When it comes to the draft I expect a few things from the Eagles. We draft a Safety, we draft a WR, and we draft De'Anthony Thomas. DAT would basically be in Sproles position but if we draft him now then what? Bench warmer? Third back that sees little to no playing time? Blech.

Howie Roseman has kept his promise of not going after the top name free agents so far. It's crystal clear that most of the people he's bought in are going to be special teams/depth players with the exception of Malcolm Jenkins. This is the only move of his I have questioned so far. I don't think Sproles is all of a sudden gonna be a shit player. I do think he will have an impact on the field. I just really wanted that extra 5th round pick.

At least this might be the end of Demaris Johnson as a kick returner.

Darrelle Revis' deal with #Patriots includes an option for 2015 at $20M, including a $12 roster bonus.

Revis got a $10M signing bonus and has a $1.5M gtd base salary for 2014. Another $500K available in per-game roster bonuses

If #Patriots exercise option before end of 2014 league year, he'd get a $12M roster bonus April 1, 2015 and have a base of $7.5M in '15.

That is a club option for 2015 on Revis, per details filed with the NFLPA. Must be exercised by end of '14 league year.

$20m option for next season, there you go folks that's why he signed!

That option can be turned into an extension though by converting the bonus into guaranteed salary over more years etc.

Oh and it seems with it being a 2/32 deal not 1/12...his cap hit this year is only like $6.5m!

All Darrelle Revis wants in life is $16m per year is what I got from that contract that he'll never get.

NFL contracts are too confusing. What's the point in a $20m option for next year when the franchise tag figure is waaaay lower than that?

Revis will have wanted a no franchise tag clause, the Pats wouldn't have.

The 20m option next year means his bonus money is spread over 2 years (2/32, not 1/12 is the real contract) meaning his cap hit this year is $6.5m and not $12m so the Pats have $5.5m more cap space than people thought last night.

It gives both parties leverage on an extension which can happen as soon as today if they wanted to.

lol he ain't extending now or midseason. That greedy bastard is gonna put himself out there to get the most $ he can. Hence why his nickname is Mevi$. Pats fans, I suggest you not purchase a Mevi$ jersey, unless you can rent one for the year.

Rapsheet saying Wilfork has asked to be released. There's 8.5m more cap space.

I haven't been able to keep up much, but I know that Revis went to the Pats and the Steelers resigned Ike Taylor

So basically the Steelers royally ****ed up cause they could have had the best and instead they have the most overrated

Yay us

Having watched him game in and game out for the past few years, I think he will flourish in Detroit. I was super stoked on Tate and wanted him to resign more than anyone.

I don't really blame for leaving after reading that.

Also lol Sherman and Blount twitter beef ending with Sherman flaunting his SB ring.

I can dig the Sproles trade, he still has some juice in him and will fit right in.

So you know that movie about the Browns that's coming out?

Here's a poster for it, from the film's official twitter(It has since been deleted):

show

The fact they can't even do the poster right is too perfect.
