Bridge of a Sterling Music Man JP50 guitar?

I played a friends JP50 recently, and loved the bridge. Seems to be a hybrid of a floyd rose and a standard Fender tremolo. Easy to set up, yet it has nearly the range of a floyd. They just call it a "modern tremolo". Can this be found in any other guitar? I'd like one in a guitar that has bridge and neck humbuckers with a middle single coil.

AFAIK, the answer is no. John Petrucci has said in a number of interviews that he had a fair amount of input into the design of the tremolo bridge on his signature guitars, and while there are many, many models of Petrucci's signature guitar, the bridge is always the same. I know that one thing on which he insisted was that the bridge not dig into his hand if he rests it there.

The closest tremolo to the Petrucci Music Man seems to be the Wilkinson. The Wilkinson does not have that round-edged metal guard over the saddles, though. So it will dig into your hand like most bridges.

The Wilkinson does look similar, could it be installed on a guitar that already has a floyd and not look ******ed?

My Tokai Strat had a bridge that looked identical. It was a Chinese Wilkinson.

Hmm...that is a good question. Unfortunately, I do not have an answer. I recommend that you post that question in the Guitar Building Forum. Those guys and girls have probably tried every modification imaginable at one time or another. You might have better luck there.
