Bla-bla-bla Pickups For 7 Strings

Hey Guys just a quick question,

I have 1 Seymour Duncan invader SH-8N NEck Humbucker
and a SH-8SG Synyster Gates Bridge

And i was wondering could these be put into a seven string guitar (if need to be routed not a problem) or do you need special "seven string" Pickups?

You'd need 7 string pickups I would have thought as the pole pieces in the pickups wouldn't fit underneath the respective strings. I have a 7 string and I'm using the time tested DiMarzio CrunchLab and Liquifire pickups. (7 String Variants)

6 string pickups wouldn't work because they aren't large enough to pick up the vibrations from 7 strings, I think. Could be wrong though, I'm not an expert on the matter.

I would say that the pickups may still pick up the frequencies but there'd be an extremely weak signal. May even cause unwanted dissonance. Not sure.
