Most UNDERrated guitarist?

I don't think Pete Townshend gets enough credit.

Tbh when you've been here for 13 years, what doesn't get repeated?

Even after 3 years, you must have seen this thread at least a dozen times. The searchbar exists for a reason.

Then you'll get pulled up for necrobumping.

Maybe not underrated, but ALL of the guitar work on Thin Lizzy's Jailbreak is phenomenal and I never hear anyone mention it. I really think it is one of the best guitar albums ever. Les Pauls forever.

Robert Fripp, Jeff Beck, Frank Zappa

Dave Hamilton is actually quite superb of a guitarist too but you have to get a hold of the Detroit City Grooves album.

I agree Townshend does not get enough credit but there are also others like Frank Zappa, Allan Holdsworth, Jeff Beck and Robert Fripp.

There are also some others I could think of like Eddie Hazel.

Warren Demartini, Neil Gerardo (wrote all the Benatar songs and had nice aggressive solos)

Hmm. I'd probably have to go with Robby Kreiger from the Doors, and Paul McCartney to some extent, I mean come on that solo he played in Taxman was just brilliant.

Prince (yeah the Purple Rain guy) is actually a phenomonal guitarist imo but no one really remembers him for it
Skip to 3:20 for Prince, or just watch the whole thing :P

Also Russ Parrish, better known as Satchel from Steel Panther. Hes played with Rob Halford, Kevin Gilbert, Sebastian Bach, Jeff Pilson, and was an instructor at GIT in Hollywood

Oh man, I remember seeing that on TV and being completely blown away by that solo he did. Makes me wonder why he doesn't do stuff like that more often.
