As incredibly dedicated to PBR as I am, I cannot agree with this one bit. I tried it, and bleh.

My understanding is the best beer for a beer float is some sort of stout such as Guiness or smth.

Alright alright you got me, there was this weissbier a friend of mine told me to get at this oktoberfest like night near where I live, and that indeed was a hell of a beautiful (looking and tasting) beer, especially with the german food they served along with it.

Actually, now that I think of it, that's the only beer I managed to get a bit drunk drinking, so maybe I should look into finding what that exactly was.

Thanks to you too TS for revamping the emotions I felt when I drank that beer.

I should spend more time in the pit...

Though most of the beer I strongly dislike.
I much prefer wine.
And single malt.

Ever try a root beer float? Well, an actual "beer float" is better.

I had some posh dessert at a restaurant that was ice cream with pineapple and Grand Marnier, if that counts

It was nice

Try a milkshake stout with ice cream, if you have any available to you locally. I've never tried this personally but the milkshake stout they have in my local area tastes like a chocolate shake, so I imagine it would go well with ice cream.
