but maiden isnt power metal!!!

and if you dont like bruce, then check out the paul dianno albums (iron Maiden and Killers) and the 2 blaze ones (The X factor and Virtual XI) The first 2 are very raw sounding. The x factor is their darkest album, and is VERY underrated IMHO and Virtual xi is typical maiden!

Also check out Blaze's solo band, BLAZE, they sound like metallica would have if they fired bob rock after TBA

^They are the main influnce behind power metal, and bands like Edguy and Helloween sound very similar, especially with the vocals, so thats why Iron Maiden are confused with power metal.

Paul and Blaze are good and very unknown, which is why some people who dont like the vocals just give up on iron maiden but IMO Bruce is more suited for maiden.

Has anyone heard of the Iron Maiden video game? I heard about it and thought WTF?

I'm not sure if I like Paul or Bruce better. My first Maiden album was their self-titled. I still love it but I love Number of the Beast, too. I can't decide. I guess I'll just have to purchase them all eventually.

I had an argument last night with someone in chat. He was saying they were Power Metal and I was arguing they weren't. It was never actually settled.

It was the Dean Baby ML wasn't it? And yeah, Ed Hunter was released along with Virtual XI, which explains all the video gamey cover art for that album.

1) Helloween pawn edguy, especially with solos. I can think of a million good helloween songs and just 2 good edguy songs. Don't go comparing Edguy to Helloween ever again.
Helloween - Rabbit Don't Come Easy >>>>>> Edguy - Hellfire Club

2) Blaze is f***ing amazing. Paul's talent on the other hand is questionnable. Bruce, well the truth is he really gets annoying after 10 listenings.

3) I'm downloading it now. It seems to have been released in 1999, so its like 6 years old. Looking at screenshots it appears to be a games similar to that of Sega's House of The Dead but with Maiden background music. I'll post a review later.

His solo CD? which one? he has like 7 or 8.
Of course, his Greatest Hits from his solo carreer is probably the better album

Iv got tyranny of souls an it rocks. Kill Devil Hill is yet anouther example of the mighty Bruces's amazing voice and he has a mean drummer in his solo career Also ABDUCTION ROCKS just like the rest i love it.

^It's not really his drummer, he uses a band called Tribe of Gypsies
I personally think Accident of Birth and Chemical Wedding were his best solo albums. My favorite songs from his solo carreer are probably Tears of the Dragon and Born in '58.

Anybody else here every hear Bruce's pre-Maiden work with Samson?

Thats how bruce met Janic Gers because samson used to get supported by Janics Band of course this was before the days of maiden well sorta you see maiden wer goin but they had Dianno who i think is inferrior to Bruce. Youl notice how much better Bruce is if you compare Dianno singing "Iron Maiden" To Bruce singing it.

Wasn't Janick firstly in Ian Gillen's (famous in Deep Purple) band? And then Bruce's biggest influence is meant to be Deep Purple.

I didnt, i compared both of them to Iron Maiden, they both have Bruce like vocals, not to rip off level or anything, but the vocals sound like Bruce, and that they are both power metal bands that sound a bit like Maiden, rather than Maiden being power.

Um, some kid made a thread a while back about subliminal messages in Maiden's songs, something like "Come on, touch my penis" or something of that flavour. But, other than those penile speculations, I don't know of anything.

He's talking about lyrics buddy, not subliminal messages.
