If you've ever read a biography on him, you'd notice that most of his songs are written from experiences, mostly from his readings as a literature professor and his childhood life at a Catholic boarding school. He's a literature professor, history professor, Boeing 747pilot, holds a position in the Icelandic Air Force, and is a radio host. Most of his work with Maiden seems to be inspired by his history and literature careers, while his solo career seems to stem off the others.

Ha, seeing this thread made me listen to Peace Of Mind for kicks and giggles and a bit of nostalgia
And i have come to this conclusion Iron Maiden is one of those bands that will kick ass no matter what! |

Amen HateEternal. Personally I love the lyrics in Blood Brothers, really deep and emotional. But then again, everything steve touches turns to gold, one of the greatest bass players and lyricists in metal IMHO. UP THE IRONS! ![]()

as an ultra tr00 metalhead you should probably know it's called Piece Of Mind other than that you're right about the kicking ass thing... @ Toxicity: Isn't it that Harris writes most of the lyrics?

Dickinson and Harris pretty much have it split down the middle with the amount of songs they write, but I was talking about Dickinson's songs in general. You can usually tell which ones are his due to the things I stated above.

true.
just wondering because the question was about Maiden in general and not specifically Bruce ![]() but damn I would have paid some serious money to be on that "Fly with me, Reykjavik" thing... Bruce as pilot, maybe singing a few songs while letting the autopilot do the work...

so is iron maiden demonic, because all the old ppl i know say that they are, and i could say some of thier songs might be, but to me if a song says hell or devil, unless that follows i worship, or im the king of..then its not damonic, like 'the devils ben useing me' i would not find demonic...

^They have a whole range of songs, while their earlier stuff tends to be more "demonic" than the more recent, which is probably the reason that older people say that they're "demonic."
They've had songs that sound like a Christian wrote them, then there are the "demonic" ones, and then there are the ones that don't really have anything spiritual attached to them.
