[ POWERTAB / MIDI ] signal flares & gasoline
it appears i've written an epic again.
it was originally only the first part, but then i decided to add on to it because i'm home sick today and have nothing better to do. next thing i know, it's 9 minutes long. it starts off heavier at the beginning, then goes into a clean interlude, then goes into emotional chords & riffs and a really long buildup and stuff, then goes back into a riff from the beginning. there are no choruses, and very few repeated parts. so enjoy (or not). i don't have lyrics yet because i don't write stuff this long ![]() maybe i'll write them later.

Wowxorz. The main part of the first movement (the intro, bars 1-20) were really amazing. After that... the dissonance was overused, it seemed. Loved everything about the second movement. Mezmerizing. The third movement was GREAT until the last like.. three bars when it sounded like the midi wanted to rape a guitar... The first movement reprised was good. All I can say is you really like your dissonance... and should maybe use it a little less excessively.

Quite a nice piece, your style has matured alot since "Failure" (forgive me if that wasn't the title!). One of the biggest indicators is the absence of a huge guitar solo like I've come to expect from 'epic' pieces on UG. Trust, me, it wasn't missed. Stuff did repeat alot, so it could've been much shorter, but what you had was definitely cohesive and nice. Drums would add alot to it, methinks. None of the dissonance was really flat out annoying, you're using it well. Cool song, cool title.

To tell you the truth some parts were out of key and it did not mix that well. Hey At least I dont reply everytime someone posts in my thread. ![]() edit and also no one has commented on two pieces I put out. Thats only reason I did it.

first of all, that's not dissonant.
second of all, that's not even close to the style of music i'm going for. if you listen to a lot of hardcore stuff, most of it uses a lot of dissonance. that's the kinda of thing i'm going for.

????? are you bloody key deaf??? it desends Bb, G#, G, F#, F at one point...if that doesn;t class as dissonance in a desending use of flat notes and 3rds based on the guitar then i might as well piss on your song with this "hardcore" music of yours, if it features so much of it you dont have a "tune" just noise..... also it doesn't matter if its ur style of music, its still applys the same theory
