Saw them last night at Noctis fest in Calgary, Alberta. I cried during Shadow of our Pale Companion.

Setlist:
Dead Winter Days
Hallways of Enchanted Ebony
Of Stone Wind and Pillor
You Were But A Ghost In My Arms
In The Shadow of Our Pale Companion
Kneel to the Cross

They were staying in the same hotel as us (you could book a room when you bought a ticket). Talked to John Haughm for a few minutes and caught an elevator with 3/4 of them.

I can die happy.

Me and Severed were there as well, I was very pleased with that set list, incredible Nostalgia for me, especially the Sol Invictus cover.

My buddy went to the show down here a month or two back. He caught Aesop's stick and got it signed , was repping the Sculptured "Embodiment" shirt, and got to talk to Anderson who was quite pleased. Apparently the chaps from Deicide were there, and Aesop was gushing over them

Yeah, when I was talking to John about the set he said they really wanted to focus solely on the older stuff. Really glad they did.

What underground compilations feature songs from first Agalloch demo From Which of this Oak?

That looks well nicer than my copy, minus the fancy wooden box. Tempting just for the artwork.

Snag a copy now before people buy up a whole whack of them and resell the items.

EDIT: This has been out for a while now, but:

Point made. Don't miss out if you want it.

I picked up one of these when they came out, the urge to put it up for sale is pretty tempting but I know I'd instantly regret it: http://www.discogs.com/Agalloch-Woo...x/master/267992

Been listening through it all and having my mind re-blown away by how incredible Agalloch are. I still can't exactly put my finger on what's so great about them, one of the best examples of exceeding the sum of parts I can think of in metal. The live tracks on the B-side to Of Stone, Wind and Pillor are something else. Still can't believe I've not seen these fuckers.

I've got my wooden box set, as tempting as that gatefold looks.

Why did no one inform me Agalloch were releasing a new record next month?

Say what you will about Marrow of the Spirit, but I loved it and can't wait to hear this one.

I think Marrow of the Spirit's their best by a mile but the new song didn't do all that much for me by comparison. Still looking forward to it though!

Oh, I didn't know a new song was released.

I really like it. It sure sounds like Agalloch. It also sounds like the month of November, which makes the early summer release a bit unfortunate.

Marrow of the Spirit was an amazing album...better than The Mantle, in my opinion. Very excited about this album -- had no idea they were working on another one.

Got to see them perform in a local bar about a year ago -- absolutely mesmerizing performance. The best part was that it was such a small venue it was like going to a rehearsal with the band. Two of the members parents were there, as they are originally from my hometown!

Agalloch is deeply etched carving in my wooden soul. Looking forward to this new album since all Agalloch material does something for me. Can't say I'll use the youtube preview because I'm a grumpy old man, but the name definitely sounds Agalloch-ish.

Pale Folklore is probably my number one most played record of the month, followed closely by Bolzer's Aura. Sometimes I really wish they would release another "From Which of This Oak." That EP still gives me the absolute chills just thinking about it. It's Agalloch in a little more stripped down form, teeth and soul are bared more naked without the lush and intricate layers of later releases.

This Old Cabin is in Agalloch's top five. Fukk the naysayers.
