According to this site, they're changing their name to The Carlyle Group. Weird. Anyways, Muse are the best! Absolutely the best!

Seriously Nicky, you have a scary amount of Muse.
Favourite songs? Hmmm... Sunburn, Muscle Museum, Cave, Sober, All of Origin of Symmetry and Stockholm Syndrome. Matt Bellamy is t3h fucking GOD. Everyone I know that's seen the Bomber Manson has pretty much orgasmed right there. They're fantastic live too. I have no idea how the hell he can ACTUALLY sing like that. It's amazing. Has anyone else heard their cover of House of the Rising Sun? It's insane. Twenty hours??? Bloody hell...

^ It's great, as is their cover of Can't Take My Eyes Off You by Andy Williams. Apparently Chris just wanted to do the "da da, da da, da da DA da"s
And heres some trivia, when Matts voice broke (or something) he went to the doctors and they examined his vocal chords and said it looked like a girls, so thats why he can sing like that. And thanks for the live clips Glen_hansard or Nicky, whoever.

they are taking the piss, calling themselves 'the carlyle group' or somethng to that effect... anyway, back to the point, muse, amazing. i love everything they've done, even absolution which doesnt seem to get an awful lot of praise for some reason. Favourite track at the moment is probably citizen erased, maybe. Oooh i hope they do go to leeds fest, it will be amazing if it get to see them, fingers crossed...

Did you get that off Crazy Bobbles? I think it was actually Dom, but he can't sing so Matt did the "Da da"s on guitar. FUN FACT Listen just before the last chorus in The Small Print, you can hear a cat meow. Quote:
I think it's something like 22 hours now. I downloaded Glastonbury 1999 yesterday. Perfect quality. In Sunburn Matt sings "Just like a virgin blows" ![]() Quote:
No problem. BTW, that whole gig (Tokyo '00) is fantastic.

Um... I've only heard Absolution, which I got when I was still buying CD's, and I was major pissed cause I thought that album blew huge, cause the only good songs I'd already heard, Time is Running Out, Hysteria, and Stockholme Syndrome (and there might have been 1 more I can't remember). I was really disappointed, cause those three rocked huge, but the rest failed to impress me whatsoever. Maybe I'll give them another chance if someone can give me one song I haven't heard, that doesn't suck.

^Compared to the others, Absolution was tad a crappy.
But I still love it. The love the mix in Apocalypse Please, the way the piano just pounds out very clearly. Quote:
![]() It's due out either late or early May, HMV have two dates for it or something. The first single will be A Crying Shame(weak song for a single, hopefully they've sexed it up a bit) probably 2 weeks before the album.

There was nothing wrong with Absolution. I think whoever said it was crappy expected too much. It sets a great mood, the melodies and the rhythm section are quite strong, and style shift is quite impressive too - Butterflies and Hurricanes for instance, where there is a pause, and Matt has a piano solo. Absolution certainly had a different sound and feel to it compared to other Muse material, but it was by no means a bad album. I think people just expected it to be more of a rock album, so of course the singles would have done quite strongly, while the rest of the album given a lukewarm reception

Yeah, that's exactly it, it was just different to the others. Showbiz - A collection of great songs Origin - An experimental collection of great songs. Absolution - A concept album. It completely redeems itself live, though. I think everyone's opinion of Absolution would be different if Fury, Eternally Missed and The Groove had been on it, but they wouldn't have fitted with the the How-People-React-To-An-Apocalyspe theme. Plus, everyone would be playing The Groove. Damn, that's one tasty riff ![]()

^yeah,.. well I think Fury actually would have fitted the overall theme, it's a shame they didn't include it on the album, it's such a great song

I love it. It would have fitted actually, I love the line "And we'll pray that there's no God to punish us and make a fuss". I heard an amazing cover of it the other day. The guy sounded soooo like Matt.
What's weird is, you know the TSP intro riff (the 3 notes)? They played that as early as '00 or '99 as a intro to Muscle Museum. ![]() Not very interesting, but I went "OMFGLOLROFLCOPTERBBQQUACK" when I realised it.

?? that's interesting... lol I didn't know that, but very very cool. And yeah, that's my favourite line in Fury, the one you posted
By the way, how would you rate "Hullabaloo" version of Muscle Museum as opposed to the one on "Showbiz"? personally I prefer the live version, I think Matt gave it more breathing space, and it had some great extra melody lines in there that weren't on the original, but gave it the extra edge on the live version
