I have found possibly the funniest muse video ever.

Except for Dom imitating slipknot and Matt being a bird.

Oh that Matt Bellamy.

Fave Muse song has to be the Stockholm Syndrome played live. Just stays fantastic for ten minutes. Awesome stuff.

And for the person that said that Crying Shame is gonna be a weak first single, I dunno, as its an interesting choice for an album that Matt has said is gonna be more about happiness rather than the apocalyptic theme.

wasn't the whole 'happiness" theme originally intended for Absolution anyway? From what I remember that's what they were going for, but then the world went crazy so apocalyptic undertones seemed more fitting...

It has a load of B-Sides on it, like Radiohead's Comlag. On it is
Coma
Pink Ego Box
Forced In(extended)
Agitated
Yes Please(same as Hullabaloo)
Fillip (Live)
Do We Need This (Live)

an extended version of Forced In?... Nice... THat song is sooooooooo eerie Aside from that I have all the studio b-sides though

For Showbiz, I'd have to say my favourite song is Hate This And I'll Love YOu. It's a highlight of the whole album for me.

Looks pretty awesome if it is the new cover. Where did you get that picture from?

Album cover looks cool. Actually, I've heard two of the new songs (one being "A Crying Shame") and I love both of them. The quality isn't great, but the songs are awesome. The songs sound more like they would fit better on Absolution than on any of the other albums. I wouldn't say they sound "happy" though.

lol, yeah maybe they're having second thoughts about the "happy" thing. but they have covers like "can't take my eyes off you" and "feeling good" that sound upbeat and don't involve the world ending. I liked that sort of thing. The jazzy stuff. I wouldn't want a whole album of it but.

I recently bought hullabaloo and I really love the work on there. It's like nothing else. I mean listening to "Forced in" I just can't pay attention to anything else. It's just so awesome.

Hullaballoo is indeed one of the most exciting recorded live performances EVER =D

The band's energy is just awe-inspiring

Hullaballoo is good but there are better gig bootlegs around. And, IMO, the mixing on Hullabaloo makes it sound ****e. Not enough bass on the CD.

Truth be told, I actually have the DVD audio on CD (no idea how, though) rather than the actual audio CD. I dunno - are the audio CD and video DVD any different or do they sound the same?

Kinda confusing =D

^I'm confused... did you rip the sound of the DVD to CD? because then it's much the same. Glen is right, there's not enough bass, although it's better still than some live dvd's I've seen. Maybe in 5.1 it would've been different. There are better bootlegs too, but to start you off and by relative comparison, it's quite amazing. It's probably what got us started

The official live cd however isn't very different either - maybe a touch better, because they would've had a chance to do extra mastering and EQ. The second cd that comes with the soundtrack is just B-sides that are studio-recorded, so it's all your normal studio-quality stuff

Virtually all the Radio Broadcast bootlegs are better quality, Earls Court(Night 2) '04, Paris au Morning '99, Pinkpop '00, London '01, Glastonbury '00, Pinkpop '04... the list goes on...

umm... he uses a fair few, so youj'd break your bank by the time you got them all. I suggest get a multi fx to start you off. But he uses delay, chorus, Digitech Whammy, a MIDI harmoniser, plus a few different distortion stompboxes.. by the way Glen_Hansard probably knows a billion things more about it, but this will get you started.... when I play their stuff, I just used to run it through my setup - a wah/volume pedal, a tube screamer and a smashbox. That gave me all the basic sounds, and the rest was just a matter of using some creative playing and mucking around with what I had. And I got some really close sounds too at that...

To be honest, I don't know how to get a good Muse tone. I know a good bit from http://musegear.fobbedoff.net/ , but I gave up trying to get it after I realised he used so much. You'll need a Fuzz pedal anyway (he uses Zvex Fuzz Factorys, I use a US made Big Muff Pi and it sounds ok), on Absolution he either uses his Fuzz Factorys or his amp's built in distortion. P90s will also help.
Just read that site and listen to some live tracks, it will give you an idea of what you need.
