Yeah Pat Smear, the guitarist from The Germs, played rhythm guitar for them on the In Utero tour and on the MTV Unplugged performance. He didn't appear on any albums, but he would have appeared on the next album. He was also on the first two Foo Fighters albums.

Last time I checked there were two.

Krist and Dave.

Seriously though this goes in the Modern Rock Forum.

But members of Nirvana:

Kurt - guitar/lead vox
Krist - bass/vox (on territorial pissings intro)
Dave - Drums/vox

Jason Everman - Guitar on tour to support 'Bleach' He is credited on the album cover, but all he did was pay for it.

Chad Channing - Drums on most of 'Bleach'

Pat Smear - 2nd guitar live on 'In Utero' tour

An array of drummers before Chad (these are just the names I remember):

Aaron Burckhard
Dave Foster
Dale Crover (he played a few songs on 'Bleach', and was in The Melvins. He filled in a lot in the early days)
Mark Pickerel
Dan Peters (only played one show, is now in Mudhoney)

Kurt wanted his songs to sound fuller to do them more justice so he brought in people like Smear and Everman. Not play on the albums because they could, like the vocals were, be over dubbed.

It also took pressure off his guitar playing, allowing him to concentrate more on singing.
