Brian Jones

I just read that Brian Jones autobiography "who killed Christopher robin" and it said that if Brian had lived he was going to leave the stones, and that George Harrison and Lennon were going to have him join the Beatles..... I was like WTF?
Could this have happened? Discuss
What would the Beatles have been like with an ex-stone in their lineup?

I think he would have fit in with the beatles perfectly. He had a very unique and original style and he was always up for trying new things in music.

I believe he actually left the Stones a few weeks before he actually did die. I didn't know he was thinking about joining The Beatles, though.

He was a very versatile player, able to play many different instruments, though his main was guitar.

Though he would probably have fit in well with The Beatles, could you imaging them (at times) with three guitars?

Now what can you do with three guitars?

...

I KNOW!

There's a movie coming out about Brian Jones, maybe it'll mention something about that.

^Wasn't it due to drugs, I mean all of them did them but Brian was really into LSD.

I guess that does make sense of how to put it. I know he was visited in jail and told the band would go on without him.

I mean, I knew he was real heavy into drugs (they greatly influenced his death more than likely, "misadenture" sounds like another name for a "bad trip"), but it seems that that may not have been a real good reason to kick him out of the band. He was a great musician, and also, everyone else was either in (or would later get into) drugs.

Besides, it was only pot, which, compared to other stuff, isn't too bad.

jones would not have worked in the beatles, McCartney and Lennon's ego's clashed enough, i also read somewhere that jack bruce wanted to reform cream with hendrix instead of clapton just before jimi died, jack and jimi were quite close so that maybe true.

i don't think that could have happened.... Brian Jones died in '69 i believe and that's when the Beatles broke up as well.

i think it would be kind of sweet though if they had Brian Jones work with them on Sgt. Peppers and MMT. man that would be sweet.

Brian DID work with the beatles
i'm pretty sure that its him clanking chains in yellow submarine, i know he did go in the studio with them at least

anyway, Brian said alot of things before he died, he was going to form his own band and all kinds of things, but he never saw any of them through, he was to un-focused
he probably did talk to one of the beatles about joining them but it would have just been that "talk"

ya, drugs really made him lose interest in music and lose focus, that's why he got kicked out.

Brian wasn't really the founder. The Stones weren't really founded by anybody. Mick and Keith wrote some music together and had a line up before Brian Jones. Brian did play a major role in getting the stones gigs and such, but Brian definitely did not found the Rolling Stones.
