I like Antony's scream, I wish the new Crica album would feature a few anthony screams. And I have to agree he is not AMZING, he can just sing high. Cedric Bixler = Amazing whether it be his falsetto or his chest voice, amazing. Another thing about Ant, he sings from his throat, he will therefore **** it up one day.

^The thing about him frigging his voice up one day is probably very true.
And Cedrix is damn good but I wouldn't say amazing, also some of the belts in Roulette Dares are really really damn good. |

Cedric Bixler? Really? I mean, I loooove At the Drive In/Mars Volta/ etc but....well, it sounds good on record, but live..it's terrible. I use to think that ATDI didn't suck live because they were my favourite band, but I couldn't keep lying myself. I mean, I've only seen a few videos out there where he's at the very least sounding decent. That's why I find Mr. Green amazing. What you hear on the record is what you hear live. Screw "oh, if you just want to hear it like the record, stay at home and just listen to the record then". The thing is, Anthony can sound great both on the record and live, and very few artists can manage to do that. And I can't deny I am kinda overly obessed with Green. But hey, if all the music that he's a part in wasn't so great, then I'd think otherwise. Minus the Jeer at Rome. I just use those tracks to laugh it up. |

Yes but Bixler has got range and has a real talent, is in control of his voice. Green just has one thing going for him, and he uses that one thing, and that's he has a naturally high voice. And I have never seen The Mars Volta live, but in ATD-I I agree quite often he didn't attept to hit those high notes. But listen to the BBC sessions and some other live recordings and he's damn well amazing as he is on record

Yes, I agree. Credric is pretty good live. Alot of the time either he's out of breath (He acts like a ****ing mad man up there) or he's just improvising and it didn't turn out well. Otherwise he's pretty much spot on. Alittle shakey compared to the record, but oh well. On the live videos I've seen of Circa it seems Anthony has a nice trick of letting the crowd sing parts he knows he cant sing.

Cedric jumps around a whole lot, like too many Red Bulls or something, so yeah he is out of breath sometimes as well, an example of this would be a video I saw of Cosmonaut, he barely sung it at all. Other times he's Gold
Let's all agree Ant's stage presense is friggin wierd, he kinda turns sideways and shakes around alot, Aaron Weiss however beats him on weirdness, because he's got that Holy roller thing going for him.

Yeah, when I said that I mean those are the reasons he sings bad at times on stage. Otherwise he's usually right on.

Personally, I prefer Anthony Green over Cedric Bixler any day. Lyrically, Anthony is much smarter. And his voice really has sex with you. Cedric's just... I odnt know, it doesn't connect like Anthony's does.
But anyway, I was going to ask a question. I hope it doesn't get you guys too off topic, but, I'm looking at buying a Circa shirt from merchnow, and I was wondering if anyone has seen it/owns it and can tell me what the text in the little box says. ![]()

Seen them twice now, can't say I'm that impressed. They seemed boring to me. I also don't know too much about them, and I wasn't there to see them either time, so that may have had a rather heavy effect on my lighty spiced opinion.
And my two cents about The Mars Volta - I absolutly can't wait to see them in like 10 days ![]()

iv seen more singers that just him do that at some times before though. iv seen circa survive a few times and every time he has amazed me, iv seen him on his solo tour and he was singing his heart out, i have vids of it that will prove you wrong that he cant sing live well. i dont know, im sure if i was a professional singer like these guys i wouldnt be 100% spot on. i do like his movements on stage though even though yes it may throw him off time to time. My fav song would have to be 'The Glorious Nosebleed'.
Would anybody agree with me that they sound a little like At The Drive In ? |

i don't think so really.
atd-i had a harder edge about them. but i guess vocally they could be seen as being pretty similar.
