Yeah, pu the capo on the 1st fret, and tune to EADGBe.

Now take the capo off and you're in Eb standard

^Tune every string down a whole step until it matches the corresponding notes.

So.. tune low E down until it displays D, tune A down until it displays G... and so forth.

You only have to tune down one whole step, so you won't have to downtune that much until you get the required notes.. they're all natural notes, so they should display on any basic guitar tuner, too.

But.. if your tuner won't display F or C, then follow the instructions above on standard a whole step down..
  1. Play the 5th fret A string and the D string open. Retune the D string to match the 5th fret A string. (C)
  2. Play the 5th fret D string and the G string open. Retune the G string to match the 5th fret D string. (F)

All these tunings can be applied to a bass as well, just ignore the top two strings.

But if you want to know a specific tuning for a bass, we'll work it out and add it.

Assuming your guitar is already tuned normally with the tuner:

Push the "flat" button twice so that "bb" is displayed.

Tune the lowest string normally.

ive got a question just bought some thicker strings for my guitar here's what they are their ernie ball strings and the gauge are as followed 48, 38, 28, 18p, 14, 11 and when i try to get the EADGBe i dont get like half-step down and they feel like they are going to snap with alot of tention on them i was wondering is this was the right tuning patern or was there another one for thicker strings sry this is the first time that ive used thicker strings i always use the thin ones

I saw a guitar somewhere on here where the strings were wrapped around the bridge. The strings were strung through towards the tail-end of the guitar and then pulled back over towards the neck (hopw that made sense). What are some good and bad things about stringing like this? (I'll try to find a picture)

EDIT: I can't find a picture but it's for an Epi Les Paul Special II if that helps.
