I picked up Dopethrone today before I made a drive from my parent's house to where I go to college. My soul was eaten along the way as I listened to the album.

Definitely the heaviest band in the world. "Wizard in Black" broke my speakers.

Love this band. Crushing music that I easily zone out too.

Funeralopolis is so fucking heavy and crushing and slow. I love the slow.

I play the Funeralopolis intro 24/7. Too catchy for its own good.

so it seems, well what can you do when you drown into the black magic rituals and perversions of Electric Wizard

Anybody heard any of Justins pre-Wizard bands? Their respective demos were re-issued as 12"s by Rise Above some time back, so far I've got Thy Grief Eternal - ...On Blackened Wings.

Yeah, I've been enjoying Doom metal much more lately. Electric Wizard is pretty much the heaviest and slowest thing I've ever heard and I love it. Dopethrone is my first album, so where do I go from there?

And are there bands similar to this on the level of heaviness and slowness? Perhaps with clean vocals?

Probably heard most of these, I don't really know how well versed you are in doom.
Early Cathedral (Forest of Equilibrium, In Memorium)
Turambar
Reverend Bizarre (In the Rectory... is the heaviest)
Saint Vitus
13
The River
Thy Grief Eternal
Lamented Souls

Dopethrone's probably the best but I really like Come My Fanatics too. Witchcult Today is also really good.

Awesome band.
