So after a few listens, I realize this band is ace of bass. Srsly, my speakers actually buzz on high volume because of all the bass...

I only have their newest album. It's good stuff, I don't listen to much doom except some of the very early bands, but EW are better than every other new doom band I've heard.
It's really relaxing, but in a dark, introspective way. Ya know?

That's what I wanted to start off on, but I can only find Witchcult Today.

Well, there's always ebay or...the other way >_>
I personally find witchcult today to be better than dopethrone, but if you like electric wizard then dopethrone is a must. |

Anyone know from where the song Magical Chylde is from? Last fm. isn't listing it anywhere, but if that's not EW playing, then there's some awesome ripoff band out there.

Magickal Childe was off the Lucifers Children demo by Eternal, which was one of Jus Obornes pre-Wizard Bands.

No, mines written 'Magical Chylde'. It's almost the same length though, and it sounds exactly like their style, including the vocals, so I'll just assume that it's that.
Deadit: And there's a confirmation! ![]()

It's spelled Magickal Childe on the original demo, and Magical Chylde on the 12" reissue, I believe. Same song.

Does anybody know where the sample at the beginning of 'Wizard in Black' is from?

Electric Wizard= Heaviest Band. Ever.
I always thought it them as kind of this generation's black sabbath. Haven't heard much from Witchcult, though. Torrenting right now. ![]()

So even though their first album isn't as heavy or spaced out as the later stuff, I really really really like the song Electric Wizard. It's simple and that really bluesy riff in the beginning parts is absolutely awesome. Plus, lyrics about a wizard riding a dragon around through space are quite amazing as well.

^He's not kidding haha.
I really wish they would come tour the US or something just so I could have the pleasure of seeing them live. Anybody lucky enough to have done this?

I saw them about two years ago, suporting Cathedral. Absoultely devastating, the old songs sound so much heavier (yes, it's possible) with two guitars. Their last US tour was a total shambles, and resulted in the original trio breaking up. So don't hold your breath. Besides, Jus said he's not a huge fan of touring, and I'm sure they'd much rather just play a show in the dead of night in a forest, in the midst of some satanic orgy...
