Again, you got caught a second time..
First, scroll up and find a thread which is called (Rules or smth, righ?), read them and then try not to make any mistakes cause people are kinda bad and naughty in here

Try in the recomendations thread if you want to be recomended.

I've been very impressed by the new album. I'm a new fan of Gojira, but it is evident how good they are.

I'm looking forward to getting the new CD.

Has anyone seen them live?

Yes.

And they sound just as good live, especially on pinch harmonic riffs.

I saw these guys live and i thought thusly:

rubbish. absoluteley tuneless junk.

your average gojira song consists of little more than palm muting a chord (usually the open string dropped chord) for long stretches, usually with some sort of rhythm, followed by a pinch harmonic squeal. Their singer is monotone, andd a boring mono tone at that. their only saving gace is the interesting melodies that sometimes grace their songs. unfortunately these usually go on for too long or not long enough before that power chord comes back.

Don't get me wrong, these are not the ramblings of an anti-metal fool, I was listening to soulfly on the way to work this morning and my current most listened to bands include Soilwork, Opeth and In Flames.

And lets face it, Gojira are French, and the French have never really had anything to contribute to metal, or for that matter, many other genres.

^You're obviously missing the appeal of this band. It has nothing to do with their melodies or 'tunes'.

It's the fact that they are the sonic equivalent to...

I know people are subject to opinion, but the draw of them is the same of that as bands like SYL and Meshuggah.

They make you want to bang your head until it dislodges from your spine.

^^It appears you are looking for the wrong things in Gojira. If you are looking for a Soilwork/Opeth/In Flames sound then you won't like them, because they sound different to them.

Gojira paly in Standard D.

I repeat

Gojira play in standard D.

Tabs are wrong.

Proof is is their song Unicorn, the harmonics at the 12th fret on high E wouldn't make D notes if guitars were in drop d. So its reasonable to assume the other songs are in D standard as well.
