^ for Doom, try some Swallow the Sun, Runemagick, Mourning Beloveth, diSEMBOWELMENT, November's Doom early-paradise lost and early-anathema in my opinion should be your next step. That was my next step after MDB. So give them a try jewish if you already havnt.

I'm looking for some really out there grind and/or death. Preferably something with good production, that 'wall-of-sound' feel (as opposed to Decapitated's Nihility, more along the lines of Nile's Annihilation of the Wicked), pretty fast, and more technical than not. Any recs?
Edit: I decided not to let it be assumed that I want it to be REALLY high energy, not like that ploddingly fast feel that gives the impression that the artists don't care. Sorry if this doesn't make sense, I'll try to think of a better way to phrase this whole damn post. Edit again: I suppose Nihility isn't particularily empty sounding, bad analogy. I can't seem to find an example of exactly what I mean, but I'm hoping you guys have a bit of an understanding. Thanks a lot!

Those are really the only two bands I can think of that come close to Winds. Albums: Green Carnation - A Blessing in Disguise... if you like that, check out Light of Day, Day of Darkness Dead Soul Tribe - A Murder of Crows, The January Tree

I know I mentioned this before but if someone is looking for something specific it might be made easier for them by putting some band characteristics in the Recommendations section because even though there are plently of bands in a single genre most of them sound different. Just my 2 Cents

Im sure some people will know more than this, but have you heard: Diabolical Masquerade - 'Ravendusk in my Heart' Melodic minded black metal, no direct references to religion. The Axis of Perdition- 'Deleted Scenes from the Transition Hospital' Black metal intermixed with ambient and industrial soundscapes, absolutely wonderful, no obvious satanic overtones, its a story about a mental hospital... |

Recs for bands that are heavily influenced by Classical music? The heavier the better. I believe the term is Neo-Classical, but I'm not sure.

Oh PS I defenatly agree with Spynal on the Doom metal part (being a lover of Doom myself). I don't think the essentials and recommendations or whatever albums were emboldened showed a lot of Doom characteristics...that's not the term...
Im not sure what I want to say but I think you need more of...Standards...I guess you could say...Eh this is a toughy I'll think about it.

You might like Epica, they're female led and have a lot of classical influence.
