proco rat vs EH big muff (usa)

Just got about £150 for Christmas, and was thinking about upgrading my pedal set up- and im torn between a rat and a muff, as the distortions and fuzzes just donít cut it on my zoom. my current set up is :

customised strat with over wound GFS pickups >>
zoom gfx-4 multi effects processor>>
vox wah>>
digitech rp-80 which i use for amp modelling and drums>>
Marshall g50r

i listen to lots of RHCP, Strokes, Nirvana, Hendrix, Bloc Party, Muse, Pink Floyd, and system of a down to name a few.

i was also wondering about an octave pedal, or just something totally different sounding?
What do you guys recommend?

Cheers

get a Turbo RAT

i own one, and it sounds pretty awesome for the heavy stuff, and can get some pretty good fuzz sounds. but other than that try them next to each other YOU SPOONY BARD. please, just try it yourself, don't waste others' time.

Just Came back from my local guitar shop (Mansonís in Exeter) where i tried out;
*the big muff
*boss ds-1 (no ds-2 left)
*boss mt-2 metal zone
*Carl martin crush zone
*turbo rat
and i was surprised to find my favourite to be the Carl martin crush zone. It says its a high gain distortion, but its also very versatile and it can sound like a very good fuzz or OD as well. it really had an edge over the big muff, and it was £15 cheaper-so i went for it. Set up between my zoom and my vox wah, it sounds immense and can be easily dramatically changed by different fuzzes and distortions before it.
So the moral of the story? Try as many different options as you can to get the pedal thatís write for you.
(still on for the muff tho giorgio1210)
