Mainstream?!

Prometheus is probably the toughest album to get into by them. The earlier albums(with the exception of IX Equilirbium) is much more easy-listening for those who already are into black metal. This is a bs statement.

Phillipa C. Registered User Join Date: Aug 2007	I wouldn't call Wrath Of The Tyrant easy listening. They got more polished as they went along. Plus they streamlined, cleaned up their image. Still, this is a Darkthrone thread. And any calls that they got more polished or mainstream with time is utterly absurd. They're last 4 records "Hate Them", "Sardonic Wrath", "The Cult Is Alive" & "FOAD" are 4 of the most downtrodden, filthy, mongrel sounding records you'll ever hear.

Just because they don't wear make up and made their cds sound better doesn't make the music more accessable. Prometheus is the most complex work they ever put out and that my friend means that it isn't anywhere near being "mainstream". Don't judge music on the shallow things like production and image.

edit: it is definetely more easy to get into for people who already are into black metal, not easy-listening in a way that everybody can like it.

Hello? If I say an album is more mainstream, then I mean it must be more accessible to people who DON'T listen to BM.

Anyways, I need to hear the new DT stuff.

Then don't use the term "mainstream", it's wrong. There's nothing mainstream about Prometheus what-so-ever.
