big fan I see. My cousin introduced me to them, she's a pretty big fanatic, she gave her friend Wish for her birthday. Disintegration=![]() I love em a lot too, I originally decided to ask my cousin about them since Blink mentioned them in the self titled album as an influence, I miss you is Love cats based and All of this actually has robert in it. Did anyone see when Robert was on South Park?

You mean the one where he killed Barbra Streisand
God, that episode was awesome. Especially when Kyle yells, "Disintegration is the best album EVER!!" as Robert is walking away in the sunlight.

Boys don't cry is the best song ever.
Great band some of the album tracks are a tad bland after you've heard them once though.

IMO the other pioneering Goth bands (Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division) are far better than the Cure, and far more deserving of the Cure's popularity.

Siouxsie and the Banshees, who had Robert Smith in their line up for years.
Joy Division supported the Cure around 1979. The Cure are the best because they can change and adapt, if Joy Division were still together and Ian Curtis hadn't committed suicide however, things could have been different.

Listen to a Bauhaus or Banshees record and tell me they couldn't adapt.
And yes, I know Bob was a Banshees for a while (he stole his trademark look form Siouxsie) and I wouldn't be surprised if JD supported the Cure. But.... are those facts relevant?

^Haven't they recently rereleased some of their albums with extra songs? Because when I was at best buy looking at pornography they had the original which said released 1982 or so and then they had a different version that was like 10 bucks more but more than twice as many songs, I think there was something about it here on UG.

I only know of If Only Tonight We Could Sleep because the Deftones covered it, and I really liked that dark, atmospheric style.
Can someone recommend me some of their darker songs? |

Man, Pornography and Faith are two of the darkest albums ever.
I sort of prefer that side of them to their Love Cats-y pop side.

Boys don't cry is such a nice song, but they're darker songs own, Caustic is right. On two occasions I've started talking to someone about the cure and then when we had gotten onto the subject of boy's don't cry we just suddenly burst into singing it lol.

I have about 8 or so albums at home... Maybe a tad overrated, but most people can only quote Lovecats,.. out of 15 or however many albums they put out The Head on The Door and Wild Mood Swings are pretty good albums if you want to look into some more Cure,.. also Wish and Disintegration

I quite like them. I've only got a greatest hits thing tho. On MiniDisk, so I can't listen to it since my player broke.
