NAD! (okay well like 4 months late but)

Hey GG&A it's been a considerable amount of time.

Anyways, grabbed a new amp a while back....

A lovely little 1484 Twin Twelve. From what I can tell it's a '68, but the jury could still be out. Philco tube number seems to point to '68 but honestly who knows.

It's in a bit of rough shape (and has developed this nasty habit of trying to kill me). On the upside, it sounds great.

... when it isn't trying to kill me, of course. Needs a good going-through and I really need to swap the two prong for a grounded, which admittedly would probably make it happier and want to keep me around for a bit longer. Might get the speaker outs changed to 8 ohm as well.

Also, the reverb tank on this thing is just as terrible as I've always heard and it is wonderful.

Happy NAD! Can't say much in that I've never heard of one of these before, but if it works for you - glad you like it!

As for the reverb - sometimes bad sounding reverb is good reverb, depending upon application.

The old Silvertone tanks are horrendous, there's about an eighth of a usable rotation on the knobs until it turns into terrible screeching .

If it doesn't want to murder me tonight I'll see what I can do about some sounds.

The store I work at has one of these with the matching cab for $800. It sounds nice, but it's pretty quiet.
