I have high hopes for the newwun, aslong as they don't go Metalcore it should be good.

Judging by the cover it looks like it's going to be a more brutal affair.

If machine head are allowed due to 'currently playing metal' that means trivium should be allowed for playing bastardized AJFA, shouldn't they?

Same goes for every other band out there that would possibly be argued.

I don't understand why you can't just talk about them in another ****in' thread.

Well, they don't "currently play metal," as they only had a couple "non-metal" albums, so they "did play metal, then stopped, and are playing metal again."


I don't understand why some people are so harsh on bands that somewhat teeter on the edge. Trivium is not one of those bands, however, because we all know that their previous album + EP were metalcore, and that the newest is just an injustice to any sort of subgenre of metal.

The difference between Trivium and Machine Head is that MH started off Metal, they just went through a rough patch.

If it's about bands who played metal but then went off it, we should be sending Paradise Lost, Anathema and Katatonia on their way too.

I hope The Blackening doesn't disappointment...TTAOE is good, however I'm still skeptical after that nu-metal bullshit. And all I ever hear Robb say about this album is, "it's heavy as ****, with so many ****ing riffs, long ****ing songs, ****ing sick ass pure metal! cheers ****ers!"...Well Robb, that's all fine and good, but I'm looking for quality, not quantity, and if it's a shit ton of generic metal riffs thrown together to make 8-minute generic metal songs, I'll be pissed. I have high hopes but it wouldn't be the first time they've disappointed me.

Just want to bring up the validity of a Machine Head thread being in this forum again due to the Metal forum's description:
