alright young ones,

chiodos has always been welcome with open arms here, and while they do have many of the elements that a hardcore or even a metal band may have, they are not a hardcore band.

you may be saying to yourself: "yeah, but lol, they're not an emo band either!"

at which point i would respond that craig owens' parts are more dominantly singing, and they sound a lot like many other bands we cover in here, which also don't belong. like buddy said, if you try and make a chiodos thread in hardcore, they'll probably be a lot less accepting of a band that doesn't technically fall under the threshold than we are.

let's just enjoy them!

im glad they are coming to seattle but they are playing with some really bad bands imo
and they are playing this huge place that holds like 2000 people or something
witch is weird because the last few times in seattle they played this club that only holds 800
and they weren't headlining

The three tracks from the new album that have made it to myspace are amazing. It blows away everything else they've done so far. The band as a whole seems to have matured a lot.

This band has really grown on me I'm ashamed to say I like them, but I do. New songs sound good. Samey. But good. The second song on the myspace is pretty cool.

Says the guy who often admits to liking Avril Lavigne.

I don't really have anything new to say about the band. I still don't like Craig's voice so I still don't listen to them.

The new album is good, but I was hoping it would be a bit heavier. It grows on you more and more as you listen to it.

So i just torrented the new album and HOLY ****! "Life is a Perception of Your Own Reality" is the most amazing song Ive heard in this genre. ever. It's got an original sound, along with a very good solo, even some sweeps thrown in there. And it's not over done or out of place. The new album is absolutely mind blowing. I haven't heard anything like it before. The entire band has really matured a lot since All's well that ends well.
