How come every thrash band but Slayer sold out in some way, but people hate Slayer and not Metallica?

Because post-1990 Slayer is total shit anyway?

Besides, everybody knows if you're a thrash metal band and you have at least 3 good albums, it's time to completely change your sound and alienate all of your fans.

Because they didn't. How many thrash bands have you listened to?

Every true thrash band (bands that came out in the 80s) did sell out. You're listening to that crappy 90s revival thing.

Face it, the whole 'revival' thing was a fad. I can prove that by presenting you with the state of the UK scene now compared to four years ago :p

Also, that comment was somewhat tongue-in-cheek. Calm down, biatch - I was more surprised to actually see some thrash discussion on this site after a long period of next to nothing.

Also, Slayer may not have necessarily sold out but they still released some crappy albums. Their last one is so bad that it's on par with St. Anger with its levels of horribleness.

Of course, not questioning that. I know what you were going for with your comment, hence the

You know I know you better than that by now.

Does anyone know what tuning Destruction play on in Release From Agony and Cracked Brain?
I want to tab some songs from those albums but I can never figure out tunings by ear.

Sentenced to Death and the first album are definitely both in E standard, so I'd recommend listening to some of those songs and then comparing that to the albums you want to figure out, the open notes should give it away.

Although Metallica seemed to just be experimenting with their sound and trying new things, Slayer just jumped on the Nu Metal bandwagon. Most of the band members hate Diabolus in Musica.

E Standard. All Destruction albums p to Cracked Brain are in E - they went to Eb for All Hlle Breaks Loose, The Antichrist and Metal Discharge, then went to D after that.

Havok's first album is so-so, but I love Time is Up. Yeah, it doesn't do anything new, but they do it in a such a way to where it doesn't feel rehashed.
