Counterparts

http://www.myspace.com/counterparts

Really good metalcore from Hamilton in Canada. Check them out.

They really remind of Misery Signals and For The Fallen Dreams and a little hint of The Ghost Inside, and Structures. But of course they have their own unique sound.

Get the album Prophets, you will not regret it.

Seen them live a bunch of times. Great band.

EDIT: Their bio is suuuper douchey though
"They bear the startling distinction however [from other Ontario metalcore bands], of virtuosity; being among the genre’s elite. “Prophets” is a veritable masterpiece of metalcore composition."

Basically. I have a hard time separating bands in this vein of metalcore to be honest.

Hopefully they didn't write that themselves. In fact I'm just going to go ahead and believe that they didn't because I like to pretend that none of the people involved in making music I enjoy are that arrogant.

I just don't think I've paid enough attention to the style to be able to hear discernible differences.

I really doubt they did write that themselves, probably a review.

Band is good though. Friends' bands have played with them a bunch of times.

New custom user title? I think so.

But ninjas are so damn overplayed. Don't want to look like a loser on the interwebs. After all, it IS serious business.

What really bothers me about all this melodic metalcore and Misery Signals (to a lesser extent) is the tritone open string chug or open string chugs in general. They actually write good heavy riffs rather then a one note chug in a weird rhythm. Good band.

Odd, they're 3 hours away from new, and I've never heard of them, let alone seen them live. They're okay I'sppose.
